Abominable Sewing

I am making masks for my son's 5th birthday party. We are doing an Abominable Snowman theme and hosting it at a children's museum. And I thought it would be cool to have masks for all the kids, so that they can run around scaring all the other museum patrons. (wink)

I haven't been able to find much time to sew. It's very frustrating not having the creative time that I crave (need). But I know it's for a good cause- devoting my time to a sweet babe and two little wild men has it's dividends.

So, this year I'm dreaming of a sewing Christmas. And perhaps soon (as in the next week or two) I will have time to make Christmas gifts for the kids. Cross your fingers for me. And don't forget to wear your pajamas inside out!

About Me

Hi there! I'm Anastasia- Stisha, is a Ukrainian nickname my family called me when I was young.

I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mama of three. In a previous life, I did motion graphics and design for commercials, tv shows and movies. And I taught college kids how to make their designs move and look cool. Now, I raise kidlings, teach at home, cook, sometimes knit, and dream of sewing more.

When I had my first baby I couldn't find clothes that fit over his cloth diapers-so I began making my own patterns and solving my kid clothing woes. I learned that I could make almost anything I really wanted- and often 20% cooler.

Now, I seek time to make things that are practical, yet special and call back to a time when a woman's creations were made out of necessity -but also out of love, and instilled a heritage and tradition of things in the home that are handmade.

I love sewing and mothering. So, along with my design background and a little Ukrainian folk style, I lovingly make magical goods for my family, home and self.
